Research Group on Energy and Confort in Bioclimatic Buildings (ECEB)

That's 6 years already!

Description

The Research Group Energy and Comfort in Bioclimatic Buildings (ECEB) was created on March 26, 2019, as an initiative for the cooperation of professors/researchers of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (FIM) of the Technological University of Panama (UTP), dedicated to the branches of physical and statistical sciences in buildings. This initiative begins with the international cooperation between two UTP graduates after their return from doctoral studies abroad. ECEB is dedicated to researching the interaction between climate, energy, and comfort in buildings and the built environment, with a focus on bioclimatic solutions that respond passively or actively to tropical environmental conditions. The group uses simulation tools, environmental monitoring, statistical modeling, and data analysis to generate scientific and technological knowledge to guide the design, construction, and adaptation of more sustainable and comfortable buildings, verifying their energy and thermal performance. In addition, it promotes the formation of human capital, the link with the productive sector, and the incidence in public policies that promote the transition towards a more efficient, resilient, and people-centered built environment.
